100K Mileage

The following chart is mileage for a Honda Insight over the first 100K miles. The car is used as a commute car in California and has been parked outdoors. The mileage per gallon changes mainly due to trip length, driver ability and weather.

A fairly conservative cost is 2.75 per gallon. Average gas usage is 74 MPG.
100K miles = 1351 gallons @ 2.75 = 3716$

A car that achieved 25 MPG would cost
100K miles = 4000 gallons @ 2.75 = 11000$

The Honda Insight was purchased for about 21000$. The battery pack has never been replaced and is still going strong.
